Prof Sorin Krammer

Sorin M.S. Krammer is Professor of Strategy and International Business at Southampton Business School (University of Southampton, UK) and an Otto Mønsted visiting Professor at Copenhagen Business School (CBS) in Denmark. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, NY, USA). Before joining the University of Southampton, Sorin was a Full Professor of Strategy and International Business at the University of Surrey (UK). Prior to that, he held the same position at the University of Exeter Business School (UK). He also served as an Associate Professor in International Business and Innovation at Leeds University Business School (UK) and as an Assistant Professor of International Economics and Business at the University of Groningen (The Netherlands). Sorin has also held academic positions at MIT Sloan School of Management (USA), Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research -SIEPR- (USA) and a visiting Professorship at Northeastern University-D'Amore-McKim School of Business (USA). In addition to academia, Sorin was involved as well as an expert consultant in several World Bank projects dealing with innovation and international competitiveness (of regions and sectors) in less-developed countries.
Sorin’s research focuses on various aspects of strategy and management (e.g., innovation, technology, sustainability, grand societal challenges) in international, comparative contexts and has previously published research in journals such as Journal of Management, Journal of International Business Studies, Research Policy, Academy of Management Learning and Education, Leadership Quarterly, Journal of World Business, Business Ethics Quarterly, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of International Business Policy, and many others. His research has been acknowledged by prestigious professional organizations such as the European Academy of Management (Best Paper Award), Academy of International Business (Alan Rugman Best Young Scholar) or Academy of Management (Best Paper in International Business and Policy Award). Sorin also serves as an Editor for Journal of International Business Policy (Book and media reviews) and a member of the Editorial Boards of Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business, Global Strategy Journal and Technological Forecasting and Social Change. |
