AIB UKI 2026 Members Meeting
Dear AIB UK&I Members,
You are warmly invited to the AIB UK&I Annual General Meeting, also known as the members’ meeting or business meeting. This meeting is traditionally held as part of the AIB UK&I Conference. However, as this year’s AIB UK&I conference activities are taking place as part of AIB@Manchester, we will hold the meeting online.
The Chapter leadership will use the meeting to update members on important developments, report back on ongoing initiatives, and outline current and future priorities for the Chapter. It is also a valuable opportunity for junior, early-career and new members to gain a better understanding of how the Chapter works and how they can become more involved.

2026 AIB UKI BOOK

The latest (2026) version of the AIB UKI Book Series is titled "International Business and Seismic Disruptions" and edited by Abderaouf Bouguerra, Sun Hye Lee, Jill Juergensen, and Shasha Zhao.

2025 CONFERENCE
The 2025 (51st) AIB UKI conference was hosted by the Surrey Business School, University of Surrey, Guildford on 24-26 April 2025. The conference theme was "Navigating Global Technological, Political and Sustainability Challenges", and was chaired by Dr Abderaouf Bouguerra. 50TH ANNIVERSARYThe AIB UKI chapter has completed 50 years! To celebrate this, the 50th Anniversary panel panel took place on 15 April 2023 at the 49th AIB UK & I Chapter Annual Conference at the University of Glasgow. The panel was composed of Peter Buckley (University of Leeds), Davide Castellani (University of Reading), Margaret Fletcher (University of Glasgow), Marian Jones (University of Sheffield), Marianna Marra (University of Sussex), Hinrich Voss (University of Bristol), Catherine Welch (Trinity College Dublin). Interview with Professor Marian V JonesIn a special edition of Women in AIB's (WAIB's) 'Paving the way for DEI" series, Noemi Sinkovics - Secretary of the AIB UKI chapter - is interviewing Professor Marian V Jones. Marian is the first female academic to receive the John Dunning Lifetime Achievement Award in the AIB UK and Ireland Chapter Community.
Marian is a Professor Emeritus in International Enterprise/ Business at the University of Sheffield. Throughout her career, Marian has published numerous research papers in the field of international business. Her collaborative work is widely recognized for its contribution to knowledge and practice in the field of international entrepreneurship, the start-up and development of new ventures in technology based industries, and to the knowledge and application of qualitative research methods. Research advisory contributions on those topics, over many years have involved collaborations with Scottish Enterprise, South Yorkshire Department of International Trade, and in an advisory capacity with UNCTAD and UNIDO. |

AIB-UKI HistoryWe have recently published the history of the AIB UKI chapter on the website. The material for this History was gathered by Stephen Young, his untimely death however prevented him from completing the work.
This history is dedicated to the memory of Stephen Young. Work to complete the History was undertaken by Frank McDonald, Heinz Josef Tüselmann and Pavlos Dimitratos. Invaluable information to enable the work to be completed was provided by Peter Buckley. Elena Karali, Asma Mitchla and Ida Rauto Dessai of the Department of International Business, Leeds University Business School, provided instrumental help in preparing this document.
