Dr Elizabeth Yi Wang is an Associate Professor of International Business, University of Leeds. A statistician by training, Dr Wang specialises in multi-level econometric modelling of behaviours of multi-unit and multi-location organisations such as multinational enterprises (MNEs) and business groups. Her research focuses on three areas: (1) how these organisations achieve competitive advantages through the management of non-economic performance, risk, learning, innovation, and partnership, (2) how external pressures such as SDGs policies and ESG standards influence their mitigation, adaptation, and strategic shift, and (3) how policy interventions can be coordinated across borders to accelerate global and local actions for SDGs led by these organisations.
She has published in Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS) as well as a number of other high impact international business outlets. She is a member of the Editorial Board of Journal International Business Policy (JIBP) and Data in Brief. As an award-winning educator, Dr Wang has been invited by international institutions, MNEs, NGOs, industry associations, and ESG funds to advice on strategic issues including regional development, location branding, poverty reduction, cross-border e-commerce education, ESG standards development, and social value accounting of green tech. She is the founder of the Mainstreaming Impact in International Business (MIIB) Initiative and an initiator of the Sustainable International Business Partnership (SIBP), a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a recipient of the Women of Achievement Award. |
