Additional guidelines for submissions to Panel Discussion SessionsIn keeping with the conference theme, “Who Drives International Business? Diverse Actors, Ownership, and Strategies in a Shifting World”, we particularly welcome panels that bring together the different actors shaping international business today, such as scholars, practitioners, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and representatives of family, state-owned, community-owned and emerging market enterprises, to debate who drives international business and how.
Panel proposals should be no more than 6,000 words inclusive of all materials, and must be submitted by the panel chair to [email protected]. All panel proposals must include:
•          A title page that includes the panel name, the session format (for example, a pro and con debate, a moderated roundtable discussion, a keynote and commentary, or a professional development workshop) and the panel participants.
•          The name, affiliation, email address and role of each participant in the panel (chair, discussant and/or panellist). All panellists listed in the submission must appear and present at the conference. Each panel must specify a chair; a second chair and/or a discussant are optional.
•          A detailed overview of the main issues addressed or arguments to be made in the panel, including how the panel speaks to the conference theme.
•          Any special technical requirements beyond a standard room setup with projection. The feasibility of any special requirements will form part of the evaluation.
•          Copies of emails or letters from each participant confirming that they agree to take part if the proposal is accepted. Failure to include these confirmations will count against the proposal.
Panel submitters are encouraged to bring together a variety of viewpoints, and to pay particular attention to geographic and gender diversity and, in the spirit of the conference theme, to the diversity of actors and forms of ownership represented.
Hosted by Queen Mary Business School, University of London.
Conference Chair: Dr Spiros Batas
